At Mary Collins School at Cherry Valley we cherish our thriving and diverse community that prides itself on honoring the imagination and creativity of all learners. We strive to provide meaningful learning experiences and opportunities for students in which they construct their own knowledge for authentic purposes. We love our year-round calendar (July - June), multi-age classrooms, and our TK - 8th grade student body.
We believe the arts are vital in the development of a well-balanced, compassionate individual. Our students enjoy watching and participating in a number of visual and performing arts including improv, reader’s theater, drama, dance, music, painting, and clay arts. Our charter ensures that there are rich opportunities in each and every day for students to demonstrate their learning through these multiple modalities.
We have a long history of environmental education at Cherry Valley and we continue to deepen this work. Recently we were awarded the California Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools Award for our innovative efforts to reduce environmental impacts, promote better health, and ensure effective sustainability and environmental education. Our students develop stewardship and lifelong skills in our school garden, nature trail, culinary projects, recycling and community service projects.
