Welcome to McKinley & PACS!

Why We Love McKinley & PACS

Diverse Community That Learns and Grows Together

McKinley Elementary attracts a diverse range of students from across the city of Petaluma. Our students are supported by a vibrant learning community of teachers and staff, many of whom are parents of students enrolled at McKinley. The McKinley team regularly partners with students and families to cultivate empathy, develop leadership skills, and organize a range of culturally responsive celebrations, community-building events, and educational programs.

Differentiated Learning Meets Students Where They Are

At McKinley, we place a strong emphasis on ensuring every student gets what they need to thrive. Teachers tailor instruction to students within their classrooms, but also work together within and across grade levels to offer differentiated learning experiences which include language art support in grades 1-6 and leveled math groups beginning in 4th grade.

Tight-Knit Accelerated Middle School Program

Petaluma Accelerated Charter School (PACS) has been named one of the state’s top-performing middle schools by US News & World Report and the California Department of Education. PACS offers a small group of 7th and 8th grade scholars a positive and rigorous learning environment in which students are known and nurtured. All students take accelerated math and advanced English language arts alongside science and history, as well as Spanish, physical education, and a rotating selection of dynamic electives. In addition, PACS students have access to the district band program and to McKinley’s performing arts program.
