Dear PCS Families,
Recent changes in state guidance and audit findings have led our District to pause short-term Independent Study contracts for the remainder of the 2024-25 school year. As of February 12, 2025, we will no longer process new requests for short-term Independent Study. Students with active contracts who are currently on Independent Study may still complete and submit their work within five days of returning to receive credit.
We understand the importance of keeping students engaged in learning when they are absent. Students will have the opportunity to make up missed assignments and tests. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we evaluate the future of Independent Study at Petaluma City Schools. Please contact your school principal if you have any questions.
