Our School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA)

Grant Elementary School Plan for Student Achievement 2026-27

Grant School SPSA

Every year, Grant's School Site Council reviews our data and sets goals for the year ahead. Here's what our 2026-27 plan focuses on.

Where we're strong: Grant students scored Blue (the highest rating) in science on the California School Dashboard, and Green in both English language arts and math. Students overall score about 42 points above the state standard in reading and writing and about 30 points above it in math.

Our goals for this year:

  • Reading and writing: Keep our strong overall results and close the gap for students with IEPs, raising their scores by 15 points. Our approach includes structured literacy (Orton-Gillingham and CRLP) in grades K-3, small-group support, and regular progress checks.
  • Math: Raise math results for all students, with extra support for students with IEPs through small groups, accommodations, and data reviews each trimester.
  • Attendance: Bring chronic absenteeism down from 8.5% to 6.5%. We'll stay in close contact with families when students miss school and share why every day counts, starting at Back-to-School Night.
  • Belonging: Increase the share of students who report having a trusted adult at school from 52% to 60%. That work includes daily community circles, restorative practices, buddy programs, and our Shamrock Recess Support parent volunteers.

The plan was approved by the School Site Council on May 4, 2026, and by the Board of Education on May 12, 2026.
