The History Department at Kenilworth offers two courses - 7th grade World History and 8th grade United States History. Both courses focus not only on the acquisition and comprehension of content knowledge, but on a student’s ability to analyze and apply the knowledge. Kenilworth History teachers promote inquiry, exploration and a sense of cultural and historical empathy. Students are encouraged to examine facts, ask questions about them and be able to distinguish fact from opinion in historical accounts and stories.
Kenilworth History students are provided opportunities to demonstrate their skills and knowledge. Through projects, simulations, writing, map decoding, debates, plays and so much more, Kenilworth students will put their expertise to work in classrooms that foster a culture of collaboration and inclusiveness.
