McKinley Elementary School Accountability Report Card (2024-25)
McKinley School SARCEach year, every California public school publishes a School Accountability Report Card (SARC) so families can see how the school is doing. Here are some highlights from McKinley's most recent report.
Academic results: In 2024-25, 41% of McKinley students met or exceeded state standards in English language arts and 39% in math, slightly above the state math average of 37%. In science, 20% of fifth graders met or exceeded standards. Raising reading achievement, especially for English learners and students with disabilities, is a central goal of our School Plan for Student Achievement.
Support for every learner: Along with classroom teachers, McKinley students are supported by a Bilingual Resource Teacher, reading specialist, resource specialists, school psychologist, speech and language specialist, guidance specialist, and student advisor. Every student has their own copy of the core textbooks and instructional materials.
An exemplary campus: McKinley's facilities earned the state's highest overall rating, Exemplary, in the most recent inspection (December 2025).
Safe and supportive: McKinley had no expulsions, and its suspension rate (1.3%) stayed below the district and state rates. The school holds monthly fire, earthquake, and lockdown drills, staff are trained in First Aid and CPR, and every classroom holds weekly meetings on being safe, respectful, and responsible.
A community that comes together: Families take part through the PTA, the English Learner Advisory Committee, and the School Site Council, and they gather all year at events like Back to School Night and community dinner, the Jog-a-thon, the Salsa Festival, Family Movie Nights, and the Spring Music Concert.
