About Us


Petaluma Adult School is the only K-12 adult school in Sonoma County and a member of the Sonoma County Adult Education Consortium. We provide a range of free and low-cost classes including high school diploma, GED/HiSET test preparation, parent education, English classes for non-native speakers, citizenship preparation, and career and technical education programs.

School Policies

Admissions: Adult School classes are open to any person 18 years of age or over who can benefit from instruction. Most classes have open enrollment and are provided in accessible settings. Ed Code #52610

Fees: Community Education classes are supported solely by student fees. Some classes request additional lab and/or materials fees. High School Diploma and High School Test Prep classes are funded through state and federal grants with no charge to students. 

Refunds: Full refunds are ONLY given for classes canceled by PAS or students BEFORE the class starts. No refunds will be given once class begins. No exceptions. Optional textbook fees will ONLY be refunded within one week of the textbook purchase date.

Academic Counseling: Counseling services are available for students in the Adult School High School Diploma classes and for any other student needing assistance with scheduling.

Books: Textbooks are available for purchase. Ed. Code #52612, 60410
