Counseling

Welcome to the PHS Counseling Office!

Counselors are divided by student's last names. Counselors are available for academic, personal/social issues, and post-secondary (college & career) planning.

Schedule Changes:

Please be aware that the Counseling Department will be very strict about schedule changes in August. This means:

  • No AP/Honors drops
  • Very limited availability for elective changes
  • No drops for off periods or TA periods, if you haven’t submitted your form yet, get it to Ms. Whetstone in the counseling office ASAP!

If you have any concerns about the classes you selected for next year, it’s important that you request a schedule change ASAP using the google form linked here. Schedule changes are only available when there is space, if there is no space, you will be placed on a waitlist. If you plan to replace a PHS course with an outside class, it is your responsibility to communicate this with your counselor as soon as possible. Additionally, if you are enrolled in an AP or Honors class for next year, please be sure to join the corresponding Google Classroom (see attached) to help secure your spot. Our course sections are very tight next year, and as you may know, the district is currently facing a budget crisis, so every enrollment number truly matters. Your official schedule will not be ready until Trojan Roll Call Days on Thursday, August 6th and Friday, August 7th.

SRJC:

If you are enrolled in a SRJC class, please send proof of enrollment to your counselor along with the PHS Outside Course Enrollment Acknowledgment. If you need help with enrollment, contact SRJC directly or review this document.

Summer Resources:

  • Work permits can be signed off by Ms. Smith in the main office, be sure to call the school to make sure she is here before showing up.
  • Counselors are off campus during summer and will return on Monday, August 3rd.
  • If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 911 or one of the following Sonoma County services:

We hope you all have a relaxing and restful summer, see you in August!

Thank you,

PHS Counseling Department
