Our School

Petaluma High School has been providing quality education since the doors opened in 1873. As one of the longest-running educational institutions in California, we have developed long-lasting traditions that continue to impact our students today. 

We work hard to find a focus for each student so that she or he leaves with a clear sense of the next step. We encourage each student to choose an academic focus area that leads to certification in the senior year. These areas, based on California industry standards, include Agriculture and Natural Resources; Arts, Media, and Entertainment; Engineering, Building Trades, and Manufacturing; Business and Finance; Transportation; Health Science and Medical Training; as well as achievement in Honors and Advanced Placement. Our Advanced Placement (AP) results continue to impress, with significant growth in numbers of students enrolled and a number of students passing with a 3 or better. We have a fully developed Career Technical Education (CTE) program with a-g coursework. Petaluma High School is part of the Northern California Career Pathway Alliance, underlining our commitment to college and career preparation.
