Broadcast Journalism

Petaluma City Schools students have the opportunity to develop skills in media production and broadcast journalism by creating school-based news shows. Below are some examples of Broadcast Journalism programs at our schools. For the most current information, contact your school.

Casa Grande High School:

Journalism students began producing the Gaucho Weekly Roundup to provide an insight into campus happenings in a video-magazine format.

Petaluma High School:

Students prepare story segments and deliver a daily morning broadcast called Trojan Live to report on what's happening on campus and in their community.

Kenilworth Junior High:

Students produce the KTV news show to broadcast the daily announcements. This program has evolved from a small studio in the library to a full digital media classroom that includes two full sections of students.
