Dear PCS families and students,
Welcome to the 2026–27 school year! It is a privilege to begin this year as Superintendent of Petaluma City Schools. As we welcome students, families, and staff back to our campuses, I want to share how honored I am to join this extraordinary community.
As your Superintendent, I am committed to building on PCS’s strong foundation and ensuring every student has the opportunity to grow, learn, belong, and succeed. Together, we will continue to foster academic excellence which begins with safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environments that support student growth and well-being.
As I begin my work in Petaluma, my first priority is listening and learning. I look forward to hearing from students, staff, families, and community members and working alongside you to build on the many strengths of our district. In the weeks ahead I will be sharing more about our district goals and our strategies to achieve them.
A new school year brings excitement and possibility—new friendships, new learning, and new opportunities for students to discover their strengths and pursue their passions. Whether you are new to our district or returning to a familiar school community, we are grateful you are part of Petaluma City Schools.
The partnership between schools and families is one of our greatest strengths. Thank you for the many ways you support student success and help strengthen our schools and community. I am deeply grateful to our dedicated teachers, staff, and administrators whose commitment and care make a lasting difference every day.
Thank you for your partnership and trust. I wish all of our students, families, and staff a joyful, successful, and inspiring school year.
With gratitude,
Davina Goldwasser
Superintendent, Petaluma City Schools
