• How do I sign up for the Boys & Girls Club expanded learning program at my school?

  To sign up for before school, after school and break programs, please click the link below for your school:

• How much does it cost to participate? Are there any discounts or is there a sliding scale?

  Please see the parent pay rates for the 2026-2027 school year, as well as discounts and the sliding scale.

  

  To apply for the sliding scale or see if you qualify for a discounted rate, please contact your club lead.

• What are the hours of before and afterschool programs?

  Before school programs begin at 7:00 AM and continue until school starts.

  Afterschool programs run by the Boys & Girls program begin at school dismissal and end at 6:00 PM.

  Break programs start at 8:00 AM and end at 5:00 PM.

• When are programs open during 2026-2027 school breaks?

  The state funds expanded learning programs for 30 non-school days, which allows us to support qualifying students and reduce family fees. On the following dates, our expanded learning provider will be open at your school campus from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM:

  • Fall Break at Year Rounds September 21-October 9
  • Fall Teacher Professional Development Day: October 12
  • Thanksgiving break: Nov 23 & 24
  • Winter Break Week 2: 12/28-12/30
  • Winter Teacher Professional Development Days: Jan 4 and 5
  • Mid-winter break: Feb 17-19
  • Spring Teacher Professional Development Day: March 15th 
  • Year-Round Spring Break: March 31- Apr 9
  • Traditional Schools Spring Break: April 5-9

  For other non-school days, you might consider joining the Boys & Girls Club at their Lucchesi club house. PCS will not be able to provide financial support for programming at the Boys & Girls Club clubhouses.

• What is the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) discount and how do I know if I’m qualified for ELOP?

  The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program, which enables us to run programs at our 7 elementary schools, launched in 2021 through Assembly Bill (AB) 130. AB 130 allocated funds for all California school districts to implement afterschool and summer school enrichment programs for students in grades TK-6.

  Petaluma City Schools receives funding annually to support our unduplicated pupils, including students who are foster or homeless youth, qualify for free or reduced lunch, or are English language learners. We are able to provide a full fee waiver for qualifying students.

  To determine eligibility, Petaluma City Schools receives information from the state and through Aeries data confirmation.
