The Petaluma City Schools Board of Education is the elected governing body responsible for setting district policy, overseeing the budget, and ensuring that every school in Petaluma City Schools serves students well. Board members are elected by the community and meet regularly in public sessions to review district priorities, approve curriculum and programs, hire and evaluate the Superintendent, and make decisions on everything from facilities and staffing to academic goals. The Board acts as the voice of the community in shaping the direction of the district, working closely with district staff, families, and educators to support student achievement and ensure resources are used effectively. Meetings are open to the public, and community members are encouraged to attend, stay informed, and share their input on issues that affect Petaluma's students and schools.
